VIDEO TIP: RACE DAY IS BUSY - LOOK FOR THE CREW

Race day can get busy with the whole Perth trail community out for adventure. If you need help or guidance there is always someone close by to help. Look for the Woohoo Crew.

What To Bring

Your Hydration System

Your system is a handheld bottle, or waist belt, or pack that holds a minimum of 500ml. All participants (yes, every course distance) MUST present their hydration system at Check-In to receive their bib. So save a walk back to the car and make sure you have your hydration with you at Check In / Bib Collection!

Dogs

Dogs are permitted at the Start/Finish area or on the course. You’re welcome to bring your well behaved dogs here as long as you’ve got someone to hang with them while you’re on the trails.

What Not to Bring

Hiking Poles

Unless…. you’re doing one of the Black Courses. We’ve got some serious hills today. If you do bring them, it’s your responsibility to stow them properly and can’t be left with anyone else on course.

Your poles, your responsibility.

Winter Series

First Time to PTS?

To help the environment we do not use paper cups or plastic bottles at our events. You will use your hydration system to top up with water on course and at the finish.

You can also purchase a collapsible cup at the Merch tent! These cups are the best!

Please Remove Headphones

We strongly encourage you to remove the headphones today. There’s a lot of other users of the trail. Removing the headphones means you are aware of your surroundings.

Remember – your bib must be worn on the front and visible at all times

Post Race Presentations

Because we’re a big trail community we wait until the majority of participants to finish for each course colour before presenting awards. We love when you hang out and enjoy the vibe at the Finish. Relax and have a chat while you refuel with food/coffee/drinks available at the finish.

We’ll have some fun games, podium presentations and spot prizes! But you’ve gotta stick around to collect* and cheer on your fellow trail runners.

*Please understand, we cannot post any prizes not collected.

VIDEO TIP: Course MARKINGS

We provide course markings the whole way to help you stay on track! Our blue flagging tape in trees and PTS arrows guide you around the course, and we expect you to follow the course markings at all times. Registered participants will receive the Event Brief email (with a downloadable Course Map) the Wednesday prior to event day. *Actual event day course may change – always follow course flagging on the day.

Trail Tips

Other Trail Users

Sleep: The most important thing you can do this week is get enough sleep. You’ve done an amazing amount of work getting to this point and being fully rested at the start line will ensure you perform to the best of your ability.

Visualisations: When you start getting nervous during the week or before the race, think back to some of the great times during your long runs during the Summer Series & Winter Series events. Picture yourself there, recall how you felt and then picture yourself out on the Truth course, feeling the same way.
Similarly, if you’re feeling low during the event think about crossing the finish line like you did in the Summer Series and Winter Series, storming a downhill or crushing an uphill and picture yourself doing it again but on this course.

Carpooling: One of the best things about these events is the community of runners! You guys! Woohoo! A great way to get to know each other better, is to rideshare. It’s good for the environment. It’s good for accountability. No sleeping in when you’ve got 3 other runners to collect! It’s good for directions – 1 person navigates, while 1 controls the tunes, 1 keeps the convos flowing and 1 does the driving.

Some Rules To Remember

Disqualification (DQ)

If caught littering or short-cutting/cheating, Disqualification (DQ) applies.

Minimum 500mL hydration must be carried for the duration of the event and it’s a DQ if you’re caught without it. If you want to run without hydration there are great footpaths in the city 😉

Bibs cannot be given to someone else to participate on your behalf – your bib, your identity. If you did not enter this event, you aren’t allowed to run the course on the day. This is called “ghosting” and will result in being refused entry to future PTS events.

We highly discourage headphone use at this event – it is a risk to your safety.

Woohoo and have fun while on course, keeping in mind that trail etiquette is key at all PTS events. Look after each other out there!

Post Race Results & Photos

Woohoo – thanks for coming out! Sunday arvo your results will be available here.

Monday we’d love you to share your photos/videos in the Perth Trail Series (social group). You may even feature in our post race email!

Wednesday check your inbox for the Event Recap – including results and photos!
