Langford Park Jarrahdale
Sly Fox – EVENT BRIEF
Everything you need to have an awesome day is here! 🏃♀️🏃♂️🏃♀️🏃♂️
We can’t wait to cheer you on at Summer Series Event #3.
Langford Park sees you enjoying loads of single track and some stunning MTB trails.
This sexy flowy trail will leave you feeling like a Sly Little Fox! 🦊
Fun Fact: Langford Park is an ex-bauxite mine that’s been repurposed into a recreational area.
Great news for the environment – and us trail runners!
Read on for all the essentials you need for event day!
DIRECTIONS AND PARKING
Please connect with your fellow trail runners and organise carpooling in our Perth Trail Series (social group)
Please follow the parking information carefully:
If you have arranged carpooling prior to event day (i.e. runners meet at your house, or you collect runners along the way) and you have a FULL vehicle (4 people), please proceed directly into Langford Park.
Enter ‘Langford Park, Nettleton Rd Entrance’ into your GPS device / Google Maps and follow the directions to find us.*Please note: There are two park entrances. Use entrance that states ‘Langford Park’ this is a bitumen road. You’ll then be directed by the PTS Crew to park your vehicle.
If you do not have a full vehicle drive to Jarrahdale Oval, 86 Millars Road Jarrahdale
You’ve then got 3 options:
1. Park your car at the Oval and enjoy a 2.6km walk/warm-up to the Start/Finish area (if you do not want to carpool, this is the option for you)
2. Park your car at the oval, and get into someone else’s car (if you do not want to drive on 2WD suitable gravel, this is the option for you)
3. Go to the oval and wait for people to get into your car. Once you’ve got a full car (4 people) proceed directly into Langford Park, where you’ll be directed by the PTS Crew to park your vehicle.
Please follow the PTS Crew instructions when parking your vehicle at both locations.
At the start of the event we are restricting vehicles from exiting the Start/Finish area.
*We recommend you use the toilet block in the bitumen carpark before walking to the Finish Area
What To Bring:
- Your Hydration System – a handheld bottle, or waist belt, or pack that holds a minimum of 500ml. All participants (yes, every course distance) MUST present their hydration system at Check-In to receive their bib. So save a walk back to the car and make sure you have your hydration with you at Check In / Bib Collection!
- Spectators – bring a chair as there is no seating available at the Start/Finish area
What Not to Bring:
- Hiking poles. They aren’t permitted on course at our Summer Series events
- View the Course Map before event day
- Install the Emergency+ App on your mobile phone
- Bring cash/card for pre-race coffee and post race food/drinks

First Time to PTS?
To help the environment we do not use paper cups or plastic bottles at our events. You will need to use your hrdration system or PTS collapsible silicone cup to access water at Top Up Stops and the Start/Finish area. We’ve got PTS collapsible cups at the Merch tent.
We have A LOT of people out at our events so please take note of the key info and times for your course colour to ensure a fun filled morning! To check in and collect your bib please head to the tent that matches your course colour. Remember – your bib must be worn on the front and visible at all times.

Because we’re a big trail community we wait until the majority of participants finish for each course before presenting awards. We love when you hang out and enjoy the vibe at the Finish. Relax and have a chat while you refuel with coffee, food and drinks available at the food trucks.
We’ll have some fun games and spot prizes! But you’ve gotta stick around to cheer on your fellow trail runners!
and we expect you to follow the course markings at all times. Registered participants will receive the Event Brief email (with a downloadable Course Map) the Wednesday prior to event day.
*Actual race day course may change – always follow course flagging on the day
Trail Tips
Ditch the Headphones: With all the flowy singletrack, we ask that you please leave the headphones at home. For this event we’re on mountain bike trails. You need to be alert and aware of other trail users as well as your surroundings.
Flat and Fast: We know it’s easy to pick up speed on the flowy trail. If you would like to pass, call out to the runner ahead of you. No need to step on their heels or breathe down their neck. If you hear panting behind you, call out to the runner, “Do you want to pass?” and then please let them.” Let’s look after each other to have the most fun! 😊
Some Rules To Remember
- Disqualification (DQ) if caught littering or short-cutting/cheating.
- Minimum 500mL hydration must be carried for the duration of the event and it’s a DQ if you’re caught without it. If you want to run without hydration there are great footpaths in the city 😉
- Bibs cannot be given to someone else to participate on your behalf – your bib, your identity. If you did not enter this event, you aren’t allowed to run the course on the day. This is called “ghosting” and will result in being refused entry to future PTS events.
- We highly discourage headphone use at this event – it is a risk to your safety.
- Woohoo and have fun while on course, keeping in mind that trail etiquette is key at all PTS events. Look after each other out there!
Woohoo – thanks for coming out for Sly Fox!
