DIRECTIONS AND PARKING
Please connect with your fellow trail runners and organise carpooling in our Perth Trail Series (social group)
Enter ‘Lower Lesmurdie Falls Car Park – 140 Palm Terrace Forrestfield, WA’ into Google Maps/GPS and follow the directions to find us.
PTS Crew will be directing you to park along the verge of Palm Terrace and Lewis Road.
Please follow all PTS Crew instructions on the day.
There are No Standing / No Parking signs in the area – please do not park where signposted. Please do not park on resident’s driveways or block vision at intersections. We want to be respectful to the locals and keep everyone safe. Expect to walk up to 15 minutes to the Start/Finish area – so please give yourself time to park and enjoy the warm up!
What To Bring:
- Your Hydration System Your system is a handheld bottle, or waist belt, or pack that holds a minimum of 500ml. All participants (yes, every course distance) MUST present their hydration system at Check-In to receive their bib. So save a walk back to the car and make sure you have your hydration with you at Check In / Bib Collection!
What Not to Bring:
- Hiking poles. They aren’t permitted on course at our Summer Series events
We Highly Recommend You:
- View the Course Map before event day
- Install the Emergency+ App on your mobile phone
- Bring cash/card for pre-race coffee and post race food/drinks
- Visit the Merch tent for awesome PTS Gear – Shirts, Buffs, Hats/Visors, Race Dots and more!
Trail Runners! It’s Summer… we’re in Perth.
And most importantly, we’re adventurers who need to be prepped for anything!
Regardless of the distance you’re running, we expect you to carry your mandatory hydration the entire time while you’re out on course.
We have A LOT of people out at our events so please take note of the key info and important times for your course colour to ensure a fun filled morning! To check in and collect your bib please head to the tent that matches your course colour. Remember – your bib must be worn on the front and visible at all times.

First Time to PTS?
To help the environment we do not use paper cups or plastic bottles at our events. You will need to use your hydration system or PTS collapsible silicone cup to access water at Top Up Stops and the Start/Finish area. If you want to grab a PTS collapsible cup head to the Merch Tent.

Because we’re a big trail community we wait until the majority of participants finish for each course before presenting awards.
We love when you hang out and enjoy the vibe at the Finish. Relax and have a chat while you refuel with food/coffee/drinks available at the Food Trucks.
We’ll have some fun games, spot prizes and announce all the giveaways. But you’ve gotta stick around to win and cheer on your fellow trail runners!
We
provide course markings the whole way to help you stay on track! Our
blue flagging tape in trees and PTS arrows guide you around the course,
and we expect you to follow the course markings at all times. Registered participants will receive the Event Brief email (with a downloadable Course Map) the Wednesday prior to event day.
*Actual event day course may change – always follow course flagging on the day*
Trail Tips
Carpooling: One of the best things about these events is the community of runners! You guys! Woohoo! A great way to get to know each other better, is to ride share. It’s good for the environment. It’s good for accountability. No sleeping in when you’ve got 3 other runners to collect! It’s good for directions – 1 person navigates, while 1 controls the tunes, 1 keeps the convos flowing and 1 does the driving.
Nail The Downhills: Let’s nail the downhills by getting those legs ticking! Try and increase your cadence – do this by shortening your steps. Lean forward, rather than back. Try NOT to heel strike. Land midfoot or forefoot regardless of how you normally run. Control your speed by taking lots and lots of small steps (be light on your feet). Confidence is the key to getting down there like a pro. And don’t forget to Smile – it’s always the most important part of your form! 😊
Some Rules To Remember
- Disqualification (DQ) if caught littering or short-cutting/cheating.
- Minimum 500mL hydration must be carried for the duration of the event and it’s a DQ if you’re caught without it. If you want to run without hydration there are great footpaths in the city 😉
- Bibs cannot be given to someone else to participate on your behalf – your bib, your identity. If you did not enter this event, you aren’t allowed to run the course on the day. This is called “ghosting” and will result in being refused entry to future PTS events.
- We highly discourage headphone use at this event – it is a risk to your safety.
- Woohoo and have fun while on course, keeping in mind that trail etiquette is key at all PTS events. Look after each other out there!
Woohoo – thanks for coming out for Swissmurdie!
Sunday arvo your results will be available here
